Sky glass TV says wifi password is wrong

Hi, probably answered elsewhere but can't find it.

I am setting up my first Sky glass tv, its a secondary tv and not in the same room as router so is to be connected via wifi. My wifi is supplied by virgin. The TV is about 1.5m away from router albeit through a plasterboard wall.

I have all my other devices working off the router (not at the same time) including a sky puck in yet another room however when I try to connect the tv I cannot get past the enter wifi password screen. The password is correct and all my devices are working. I have restarted the router and the tv but nothing seems to make it work.

Might be worthwhile investing in a very long ethernet cable, even if it's just temporarily until you can get the TV up and running, then try WiFi again. You can get a 10 metre cable for less than a tenner on Amazon.

I'd try a reset of the glass.

1. Turn the TV off at the plug.
2. Press the power/standby button on the side of the TV and keeping pressing it down.
3. keep hold of  the power button and turn the plug back on.
4. Keeping holding the the power button down until it turns amber and then it should turn green. Then you can let go.
5. The TV is reset, you'll have to connect to Wi-Fi or whatever you use,  set up the remotes and then you'll get an activation code.
6. log into the sky activate site and enter the code and that's it.
