Since sky have moved the paramount plus account over to basic, how do I upgrade it back to standard with out ads. There is no way of doing this on paramount plus's website or via sky market place. So how do we change this.

Paramount have changed the tiers and introduced adverts not Sky. However I don't believe it is possible to upgrade via Sky marketplace at this time.
The only way this would be possible into cancel you free subscription in Sky marketplace and take out a subscription at the desired teir directly with paramount.

Sky says:
Paramount+ with Sky Cinema gives you access to:
So that you know, we're not able to offer other plans at the moment.

I subscribe to Paramount + via Sky and watch it via the app on my Sky box. Like a great number of other Sky users, I've discovered that Paramount + is no longer ad free via the app on Sky (or on my tablet) because Sky have downgraded it to the 'basic with ads' package.
I've noticed that Paramount + is also available via the Amazon Prime app on my Sky Q box. They're offering a Paramount + ad free subscription at £7.99 a month. Has anyone tried this? Are there any problems watching it ad free via the Amazon Prime app on the Sky Q box?

@Steve+EA Sky have not downgraded you paramount + changed the tiers from 1 tier to 3 and opted to give sky the lowest tier as the freebie.
If you use paramount + through Amazon Prime you would need to create a new account and pay the £7.99 subscription fee. Currently there is no option to upgrade via Sky and whether paramount + give that option to Sky later on no lne knows

Thanks, I wasn't aware all this nonsense had been created by Paramount. You wonder why though.
It seems that I'd be better off cancelling Paramount via Sky and signing up via Prime instead. I was just wondering if I did so whether there would be any problem watching it via the Prime app on the Sky box.

I don't wonder why. $$$
You can't cancel via sky (well, you can cancel sky cinema if you're not locked into a discount period)
Does the content appear within the Prime app or is it just a commercial thing and you have to use the P+ app linked to an amazon account? If it's the latter, I doubt it will work without somehow unlinking your sky account first which ... I'm not sure how you do.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI have created a new account directly with Paramount+ web site with a different email and signed up to the Premium 4k/atmos teir and if you can pay annually it is the equivalent of £8.16 month. It also works via the Sky P+ app on my Stream/Glass and content watched is still appears in the continue watching rail.
I assume this would work with Sky Q.

Thanks, I've signed up to the Paramount Plus ad free service via Prime Video at £7.99 a month or £70.99 for 12 months. I've discovered that to watch it, I have to go round the houses and use the Prime Video app on my Sky Q box.
The Paramount Plus app on my Sky Q box still displays the basic with ads service. Paramount have advised me to cancel the Sky subscription in case I'm double billed. After speaking with Sky customer services, I've been told that the Paramount Plus service on Sky is free but is linked to my Sky Cinema subscription. In order to cancel it, I have to cancel Sky Cinema which I'm not prepared to do.
Likewise, the Paramount Plus app on my tablet/mobile phone is also linked to the Sky Paramount Plus with ads service. To use the Paramount Plus ad free service I also have to view it via the Prime Video app.
This is a bit of a pain in the **bleep** but it seems that it's the only way of viewing Paramount Plus without ads. Apparently it's all because of 4KUHD which Sky haven't got around to offering yet. I expect eventually that Sky will get around to offering 4KUHD (for a price) and the whole process will begin again.

I'm not sure that is correct, most Sky devices and other apps have no issue delivering 4K UHD and they would be reliant on Paramount+ updating the app for Sky devices to handle it anyway.
Sky would also need to:
I would be surprised if these things are not resolved over time and I think it is likely the additional tiers will become available via Sky, but we will just have to wait and see, or go direct.
I'm not sure there is anything on there that interests me enough currently to want to see the 4K UHD version, but each to their own. 👍🏻

Why not just sign out of the P+ app on the tablet and sign in with the other account?

Exactly how I've signed up for the p+ premium account. I can then sign out of every device that was using Sky's p+ and sign back in again using the new account using the different email address and password I setup. I've never used the Sky app anyway.

Just to let you know, that is the way subscriptions via Amazon Prime work - they all need to use the Prime app (or access prime via Amazon Website on a PC)
This can be handy if you are used to watching via Prime - I currently Subscibe to Acorn TV via Prime which in this case means I don't need their app
I suspect you won't be able to subscribe to P+ in UHD via prime but can, of course, directly
BTW as the others have mentioned it is not because of the introduction of 4K for P+ as such - it is due to the introduction of their tiered subscriptions (including the 'with ads' tier) which they previously did not have

The problem I have is my email is linked to sky so won't let me set up a new package as keeps telling me I have an account already?

You'll need to use a different email address. You can easily create one on gmail or yahoo or outlook amongst others.
