Recording
I recorded Bridget Jones on normal tv, Chanel 5. When I went to watch it, it goes to sky cinema asking for me to upgrade. Why can't I just get it, on Chanel 5

Movies tend to have different streaming rights. If you don't watch them live on a free-to-air channel such as Channel 5 then you can only watch them later if you subscribe to the service which holds the on demand streaming rights, which in this case is Sky Cinema.
You cannot record movies in the same sense as you can on Sky+ or Sky Q.
