Yep - did as Chodley suggested and signed up via Paramount using a different email/password and it seems to be back to normal again. I look forward to a resumption of Star Trek - The Next Generation minus ads.
If there's one other thing I've learned from all this, it's that you can't say a*** on this forum without it being **bleeped**.

as ever sky doing what it always does , fleecing customers and when you grumble , the response is " leave and go somewhere else " More expensive , less choice and as a customer of over 20 years i may just take there advice

Little else they can suggest when the ads on Paramount+ are at the behest of Paramount+, not Sky.

@ANDREW+MCNAUGHT have read the post in this read as if you had youd know this paramounts decision

This is all very annoying and frustrating!
Started seeing an ad or 2 at the beginning of my shows 50secs max at the beginning which I decided I could live with.
just started rewatching discovery and there are so many adverts.
i am fed up with companies like Sky saying "err tough" when they change the deal (ok so I hear above it's paramount who decided this but Sky is a big customers of theirs and surely Sky could say; nope, you need to give OUR customers who pay for Advert-Free - your services Advert-Free or we won't renew our contract.Yada yada
i really don't want to sign up for a new account or a service that is meant to be free and start with a new email address meaning all the shows reset. I'd grumble but I'd pay 99p or something not to watch adverts but £7.99 when I already pay for no-adverts AND the paramount service (via Sky-Cinema - NOTHING is ever actually free) is just an annoyance
There are so many companies who offered people great offers to sign up for contracts on a subscriptions basis. They then seem to think it's ok to change what it is included in those subscriptions mid way though their contracts and it's not OK
and I really hate adverts
Quite the grumble 😂😂😂

It is, however, legal, as long as the contract contains the relevant wording and customers are permitted to exit without penalty if they can reasonably claim to be materially disadvantaged by the change.
Realistically that's the only way Sky and other subscription business can deal with circumstances outside their own control such as the removal of channels or service levels provided by someone else.

All the claims that this is not Sky's doing but Paramount's. Sky decide what package they give their customers access to and have decided to go for the cheapest possible option.
Paramount t have just said here is the layers that our contacts will now operate at in order to make it more accessible to more people.

Super super super annoying! I hope we're able to easily watch Paramount plus with NO ADVERTS again soon 🤬

What annoys me is the constant ads with the link to upgrade when we can't!
21 Feb 2025 07:55 PM
Why not just unlink your paramount plus account from sky and then subscribe with that same account directly with paramount. Shouldn't need to create a new paramount account

I don't know why anyone would pay for the worst streaming service around.
I'll live with ads and save nearly 100 quid a year for the small handful of what's worth watching on it!

Paramount + is with Sky Cinema and uses the lower tire with adds now because Paramont + is trying to get new subscribers to sign up to the £7.99 without adds, they are trying to get more uses in the UK to sign up to it when they are not, they are just trying to copy Netflix, I still like Netfix better.

We can't change the subscription level though. I would've have though there would be an option to upgrade to the "without ads" tiers, but no, stuck on ads option

It means once again that what we pay for with Sky Cinema is less value for money. Paramount+ is unwatchable with all those ads.
