- Do UK-based apps like iPlayer, ITVX, ch4, etc. all play at 50fps?
Sky Stream only outputs at 50hz or 60hz. There is no native frame rate matching.
It's the same as on Sky Q - judder reduction is the only setting available to the user which merely switches the output for all third party apps from 50hz to 60hz.
Only BBC iPlayer will automatically switch back to 50hz for correct playback as it has a native frame rate trigger embedded in the app itself.
So, if you have judder reduction for apps turned on, then ITVX, Channel 4 and My5 will output at 60hz, when they should really be outputting at 50hz.
Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV and Prime Video will all output at 60Hz with judder reduction turned on.

Thanks. So you're saying that you have to choose to play all apps in either 60hz (suits Netflix, Disney+, etc) or 50hz (suits ITVX, ch4, etc)? Only iPlayer will correctly play in 50hz if you've set 60hz as the setting.
That is so dissapointing 😞

No problem. Yes, that's unfortunately correct.
For those of us sensitive to such frame rate issues (as I presume you are too) it's extremely irritating.

Yes, it is hugely irritating. I'll stick with our Apple TV boxes for now. Thanks.
