100% Sky are aware of the issue. Others have received a rebate for the issue. Sky are lying to you, or the agents you spoke to are completely useless.

They are aware, just not prioritising. Best thing people can do is to walk away from Sky, that is the only way they will notice. You can always re-sign up as a new customer once they eventually sort. I've been with them over 20 years and still paying the same as a new customer! I was told best by Sky advisor to re-connect wired rather than rely on WiFi - ridiculous! Sky Glass TV can be used without sky subscription so don't be afraid. Theres no benefit of loyalty now a days and disappointingly there is nothing unique about Sky anymore.

Thanks again for your contribution to this thread, and for your patience. With support from this discussion thread, our Support Teams have been investigating the issue with Watch from Start reverting to the live channel and believe they have built a fix that we expect to be included in the next software release. The release date is tbc but will likely be nearer the end of January.

This is not an acceptable response. Why have your customer services lied about this issue which caused quite a few Glass subscribers to leave after 20yrs.

Stream jumping back to start on fast forward

I've just received my Sky Stream as a new customer. I've not currently paid for Ad Skipping. 1st attempt at using 'Watch from the Start', as expected can't fast forward through the ads at the beginning, no problem.

However I then wanted to fast forward a bit through the program itself as we had seen a bit of it already, but as soon as I try to fast forward the show, not the adverts, it jumps straight back to the start of the program & we have to watch the adverts again and then are not able to fast forward the show again to get back to where we were.

 

Is this expected?! I may be cancelling within my 14d cooling off period if so!

I'm afraid that the 'watch from the start' function isn't hugely reliable when it comes to fast forwarding through a show.

I personally have stopped using it due to suffering the same infuriating issues as you. I now wait for the programme to appear on demand before watching.

ah ok thanks. So you dont get the same experience with on-demand only with watch from the start? I'll go & have a bit of a test!

The quickest temporary solution I have found for this is to then use the voice function of the remote control asking for the programme in question and then restarting, forwarding to where you left off. Not ideal but a work around for now .....

Hi,

Unfortunately,  the work around suggested does not work for me. 

The program i was watching is no longer in my my playlist (somehow this bug removes it) and, as it is no longer live so I can't restart it. 

 

Happened 2 weeks running on my program. 

Very disappointing. 

Hope the deletion from playlist issue is fixed as part of this too.

I have been experiencing this problem for some time and, today I finally posted on it.

@Fothergill1 pointed me to this thread (thank you) and I see that I am not alone 😀

I hope this will be resolved soon (expected late January as I understand it) as this is a Huge irritatation..

@AJH  Your welcome.  It hapened to me at lunchtime when I forgot I had paused the programme and then went to FF.  It has just happened again about 20 minutes ago but on this occasion I did a watch from start and as soon as the programme finished in realtime it jumped to the end without even being fast forwarded 😫 🤬

It's a terrible waste of time and money to be offered a product, the subscription, that doesn't do what its supposed to do. 

I cancelled my sky after 20 years because of this issue.  I'm pleased to say that the Glass tv is working fine with no Sky subscription. A lot of apps are still available, also has freeview channels and my firestick provides everything else I need. UHD and Atmos Sound are still there.  One thing I do miss is Add skipping but I'm sure I will get over that. 

  • I feel that compensation is something Sky should have offered during this issue. They have not solved the Lipsync issue yet (The words and mouth movement are not in sync) and that has been 3 yrs since this started. Can't see a fix coming for either of these issues soon as Sky have given no updates.

What Sky should do is if you press on `Watch From Start` button then just incase it messes up add the TV Program or Film to you playlist in your profile so its there if you need it.
Sky could add a `Watch Frorm Start` in your profile so they are all in one place, but you would need to setup your profile first, for it to work... 🙂

.....not a bad idea.. except....on 2 separate occasions I have used the watch from start feature on programs in my playlist....

Both times it's gone wrong per this thread.... and on both occasions the program was no longer in my playlist .. lost forever.
