Unfortunately repairs take as long as they take, and more so if it's a central equipment issue. Domestic broadband in particular is not covered by any specific service guarantees.

That might be the case but any people work from home these days. Think there is a refund on charges if there s a long period of none delivery of Broadband?

See this link re auto compensation for when there is a total loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation
If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full working days from when you first report the fault to Sky, you will become eligible for it once the fault has been fixed. It will come in the form of a credit appearing on your account.

Certainly, but that doesn't change a domestic broadband subscription into a business-grade internet acess service with SLAs and redundant routing around points of failure, or do anything to help the decades-old GPO copper connecting most UK households to their local fibre cabinet or telephone exchange.

I agree and Sky are saying its a problem with the local telephone exchange-interestingly the landlines have started to work again so hopefully the internet will come back to life soon.....
