Hi there,
I have Sky Fibre (FTTP). My Sky router is connected to the Openreach ONT. I'd like to completely replace my Sky router with a different one if I can.
Can I use any router with Sky Fibre or does it have to be a router that supports DHCP Option 60/61?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

80% of the time any router can authenticate via dhcpv6 prefix delegation. To guarantee connection it would be advised to get a router that has dhcp option 61 client identifier.
We find the asus rt ax and asus zenwifi routers to be more consistant in authenticating both at the same tie

Thank you for your reply.
I recently purchased a Linksys WiFi 6 Mesh Router which asked me for my ISP settings (username and password)
I wasn't sure what this info was or even where to find it. Do all third party routers require this info?
Thanks,

Currently I am using the Sky router provided, as I wasn't sure which router to go for before I try buy one and try again with a third party router.

Ok, I might have a look for that router then. Is it pretty much plug and play or does it need a username and password?

For the asus rt ax58u the firmware needs updated until it doesn' update anymore.
After that change connenction type to automatic ip. Locate client identifier (option 61) field and enter anything@skydsl|anything

Hi again,
I bought the router. I have connected it up to my ONT modem. I'm now in the app trying to set it up and I'm not sure what to do/what to select.

Best to use the web interface 192.168.x.y not the asus router app. Once the firmware is updated change connection type to automatic ip and enter client identifier (option 61) string of :-
anything@skydsl|anything
