Hey Guys, as per my previous post I'm due an update from the engineer tomorrow as the advisor said it was an Open reach issue they need to investigate. If I get an update I'll make u all aware on here, if not, I'll be on the phone to Sky and will update then.

Same issue here, Wakefield West Yorkshire. Youtube and Youtube music, on both apps and PC. Sky seems to be cancelling requests on certain videos/songs. I had a quick look in Mozilla Developer and it was certain endpoints that would initially hang, then have the request cancelled, then re-try. On PC the video/song would play after a short delay. The apps seem to just freeze and not recover. Best fix I have is to quickly toggle wifi on my phone.
Here's the things i've tried:
- Reset my router.
- Double checked all shields are down.
- Tried an old router I had in the loft. (~2 months old)
- Confirmed it's happening to all iPhones (multiple models and ios versions) in the house.
- Confirmed it does not happen on any non-Sky wifi. Mobile data works file.
It feels like certain requests to Google endpoints are having issues and the apps freeze. PC just suffers initial lag until the request is re-issued. Replying so I can keep an eye on this thread!

My complaint reply said, as expected, they have done tests and nothing is wrong, there are no faults.
Regarding the issues you’ve mentioned in your area and the presence of Openreach vans, it’s possible that there is ongoing work that could be affecting your service.
I have said that's no good enough and I eant I escalating.

This exact situation is happening to me as well and I'm in Rodley West Yorkshire.
I've also noticed my Virgin banking app isn't working as it should also but not sure if that's related.
All our household Android devices are affected and my daughter's iOS is having issues with YouTube app but works through a browser.
I'm not a tech guy but you can see this isn't a physical line issue but feels more like a security issue where Google play services are being blocked.
I like most of us can work around this however on Tuesday I have a Speed Awareness course, all my nearby family and friends use sky and my work system is a secure intranet and won't allow me do the coarse from there.
The guys upstairs must have better answers than what we were have been given.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Boris75 as the post by Sky indicates this issue is under investigation they never give a running commentary on fixes. I can only theorise as to the cause of the issue but if it is confined to a particular geographic area it coukd be related to an issue with the servers managing the connections which are physically located in different locations around the country. We do see issues with services like DNS and the digital voice line which are caused by issues with these servers.

That reply was for the VPN fix. At least it's something until they fix it!

Hey Guys, as promised I'm back to update u.
So surprise surprise I never heard back from anyone after 24 hours as promised. I called Sky back today who have now rebooked an engineers visit for Monday. I've logged a complaint as well.
The shocking thing is, Sky are obviously aware there's an issue but management don't seem to have briefed their staff on the matter hence when u call them they're clueless. Not an efficient way to run operations at all as it'll only lead to more difficult calls and complaints!
Will keep u posted!

I'm having the same issues in West Yorkshire too. Mainly noticed that youtube keeps stopping. Rebooted the hub which makes no difference. It's got to be a DNS / routing issue

I've had a reply to my complaint saying switch on and switch off again, as no issues identified with the broadband. Have asked me to call which I will do when not at work. The denial of this issue is shocking. It's clearly a software update issue. Needs rewinding to previous version and looking at a fix that way. And yet sky seem to want to send new routers out? Baffled.

Sky got back to me but they are literally just telling me to do what iv already tried with no change. Im not a tech person but iv tried all the turning off and uninstalling apps and stuff. I uninstalled sky go on the ps5 that redownloaded fine but still not playing live tv at all. Still having problems with the android downloads and youtube buffering. Hopefully with all the reports they will see this isnt just an issue in the home but rather a wider problem and get it fixed asap!
