So, my full fibre 500 was activated this afternoon.
Ran a speed test and they weren't even hitting 200 download.
Rebooted router and now shows as:
DOWN: 280.9mbps
UP:62.5mbps
I'm guessing I should be getting better than that on Full Fibre 500?
Does it take a few days to bed in/settle, or is there a problem somewhere?

In addition, I've just connected the laptop to the hub via an ethernet cable and it shows...
DOWN: 89.9
UP: 54.9

@dm1983 could be your laptop Ethernet connection is limited to 100mbps.
With Ethernet cable connected, click on internet connection icon in hidden icons righthand side of taskbar. Double click on the SKY connection which brings up Ethernet page. Click on connection and scroll down to Properties and look for Link Speed (Receive/transmit). If it shows 100/100 then your hardware is limited to 100mbps. If it shows 1000/1000 then you have a gigabit connection and you should be getting somewhere close to your 500mbps speed.
Worth also checking your Ethernet cable specification which should be Cat5e or higher. (a cat 5 cable is limited to 100mbps).

I'll check it out when I'm home later.
Given it's Full Fibre 500 I've been sold, I'd have thought the speeds on wifi would be much higher than I'm getting too?

Not necessarily: all WiFi is hugely affected by local conditions (and falls to zero Mbs on the other side of a few walls no matter how fast it is at the router)

Currently showing as just over 200mbps via wifi.
With laptop literally sat next to the hub.

Find out more@dm1983 you should be getting higher speeds than that but Sky do not accept speed complaints for the first 10 days which is a bit stupid as full fibre either works or it doesnt from day 1 but thst iscwhat they say. Speed issues though are rare so its worth checking the set up on the laptop if it is an older model you need to check the wifi set up that it is ideally using 802.11ac or better (WiFi5 or higher)as if it only offer 802.11n (WiFi4) the issue could be the WiFi card. The fact the unit looked to have an ethernet port running at 100Mb/s implies it is not the newest.

Speeds when checking on my mobile and on my work laptop are also reporting similar in terms of wifi.
Here's what my own laptop says about the card...

802.11a/b/g is antique: it's a specification from 2003
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11
The n/ac below it is more recent, and the Intel chipset is from 2016

So, I should switch down to the other one?
Here's the options for that one...

802.11ac ('WiFi 5') is, as the number suggests, rather more capable than 802.11n ('WiFi 4') or 802.11a/b/g ('WiFi 3')
The most recent mainstream standard is 802.11ax ('WiFi 6') but only the white Sky Max Hub supports that.
As @jamesn123 indicates, 200Mbs over WiFi from 500Mbs FTTP isn't bad: I get considerably less than that one room away from my BT Smart Hub 2.

So, I tried to switch to the 802.11ac but when I click ok with that selected, it doesn't actually change.
It is indeed the white Sky Max Hub I've got.
