Agreed there were several outages in chesterfield last night from 11:30pm upto 6:30am today (Thur). Always reconnected but the logs show a lot of IP issues and renewals. Also my external facing IP address change a couple of times. When running correctly on fibre this only happens every few weeks or months. BT ned to get their servers/ switches sorted. If if is a software update then they need to roll it back until tested correctly.

I agree, when I get up I like to check for messages but the modem always has 2 Amber lights around 5.25am. It's so so inconvenient and annoying.

I have more details about the fault which has been ongoing for 3 weeks.
Openreach control the network from the customer property to what is known as the Headend in the Chesterfield exchange - there are no major faults here.
BT control what is known as the transmission layer which connects the Headend to the ISPs equipment (Sky, BT, EE etc) - there is a major fault in this transmission layer that BT haven't yet fixed

@jb80 @Thanks for the update. They must be doing something as they say it is stable for a while then lots of dropouts
Do they have an ETA? Or is that the standard 2 days on a rolling basis 🙂

Openreach didn't have any details on what BT were doing to fix it or timeframes. Openreach only advised that if it was still doing it in 2 weeks time to raise another fault.

Sky down in s43 chesterfield, Brimington 11:12pm again
As soon as I switch from sky Q to sky stream, the net fails constantly.
Full wired and wireless smart house,
Downgraded to sky stream basic as all channels come in HD and included netflix,
Disney, paramount+, Prime video, crunchyroll.
No sky cinema, sports, skip ads (only works on sky demand) or UHD
No Internet or phone now since the change to sky stream and full fiber 300mb
8 years sky HD and sky Q (when released x 4 boxs as faulty over time)
But never a problem on 80mb copper wire Broadband 8 years, and 150mb full fiber about 7 months.
But now when I have noticed daily.
3/4pm down,
8/9pm down,
11/12pm down
This is chesterfield derbyshire.
If anyone in the area has changed like me to stream and thinks this is convenient. The constant being down.
Is to get me to upgrade to sky q again.
Lucky I freeview+HD in tv
And 150gb 5g tether on phone as back up.
But a pain to switch routers.

Yep down again just after 11pm and I will not be switching to steam for a few years now the sat has been booked until 2029. Can trust the internet. At least sky Q works.f

15 Nov 2024 07:04 AM
Down again between 4:02 and 6:25 this morning.
15 Nov 2024 08:38 AM
My sky in chesterfield went off at 04:13 due to lack of DHCP renewal. This didn't get resolved until 06:31, although there was some connection in-between those times. My external IP address changed.
What I have noticed this morning is that DNS is responding quickly and without the delays or null response I have been getting.
At least it automatically reconnected.
15 Nov 2024 09:47 AM
Outage again ongoing since 09:36
15 Nov 2024 10:40 AM
Intermittent outage in Chesterfield between 09:36 and 10:13.
I've got it raised with Openreach and referenced the issues from October as looks like exactly the same cause.
