Ive just found this forum i rang sky yesterday as i have same issue they just said i need an open reach engineer out which is booked now i find this i too am in wakefield ....
Dont expect anything to be done on this as we been without sky talk shield nearly a year now once somethig goes wrong with sky heads get burried in the sanf and nothing happens as whats been proved with the talk shield problem the technical team either cant or wont fix it.

I've been sent a New Hub and it makes no diffrence. Waiting on a response from the complaints department and asked for a timescale of how long to fix this issue or I'm cancelling.

Same problem, YouTube buffers for 5 minutes before working then buffers again on the ads. Apple devices, Halifax WY

I was expecting a call yesterday from sky, i was told I'd get an update in 72 hours..
Still same issue and no further info on what's going on.
My and my wife both have pay as you go as we don't use mobiles to make much calls, now I'm having to top up to use data to watch YouTube when I'm already paying for a broadband service!

VPN's do slownthe speed down unfortunately. But at least they allow you to update and download for now. I use Proton free one.

Proton seems fine, if speed is slow try telling it to change server, often the "fastest free" it selects is actually slow.

Sky Tech engineer just been,it was first one he has been called to but had heard about it from other engineers, they have no solution to fix it as yet but they have been told to take the router details, the device model /serial number and the playstore version of all the affected devices .
Could have saved them the call out and sent them all the details myself if they had asked.
So we are still no wiser as to the cause or when it will be fixed
