Very confused be patient kind please
Just sussed that with glass I now have Netflix basic free but this is in SD I think ( use be standard with Q HD )
I tried basic ( not sure tell difference )
Now try premium for I presume UHD purposes
supposed be best ?
Seems cheeky lost out with standard and now have pay £4 priv of HD
I don't need multi screens
I have dormant Apple TV 4K box
Would my picture quality be enhanced using that instead of glass app should I decide to return to standard or even basic Netflix ?
I want get bill down
I am told that can't really tell difference tween any of them
Sky glass is 4k
Or is it more complex ( if so I am stuck as I no techie )
I am told that ambient light setting best turned off for better quality picture ?
Whats that about and why and how ?
I tend leave as is but worth ask
Thx

Apple TV upscales so you may get a better image, but there are many factors here. What TV are you viewing on? If its a basic LED or OLED will make a huge difference especially with UHD.
Additionally personal viewing tastes and perceptions need to be considered. I know people who can't tell the difference between SD or HD. I find that some UHD programs look over processed.
The one positive with Stream is that the HD image is extremely good quality but again only provided you have a decent OLED TV.
If I'm reading correctly you have a glass tv. I think you will find little improvement if any using an Apple tv viewing SD Netflix you just as well stay with Netflix on Glass.
The best option plug it in and try it.

@Anonymous the Apple TV only upscales HD content if you have it set to 4K, apart from that it plays in its native scale. So Paramount+ on ATV plays at 1080, unless you switch the output to something like DV HDR. Most of the Apple TV + content is natively 4K, so you need to switch on match frame rate in the ATV settings to benefit from that and as you point out it all depends on the TV you have.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Rainloz the Sky Ultimate TV pack includes Netflix Basic which allows one screen at once in what Netflix describe as SD. Your Sky Glass upscales all material to UHD - if it didnt SD material would be a tiny box in the middle of a black screen. Your Apple TV4K should do a better job of upscaling than the Glass so there shoukd be an improvement but whether that is noticeable is down to you. People who pay £150 for Apple TVs do have a need to justify that expense.😀
On Sky Q it sounds like you had an older package than the current Sky Ultimate some of which did include a higher resolution Netflix. You can upgrade your Netflix pack by paying £5 per month for HD on 2 screens or £8 for the Premium level which includes UHD on up to 4 screens and includes Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound which Glass supports.

Thanks Chrissy for help
I may try Apple TV yes just to see if it's more fab
Currently trialling premium Netflix but prob stick with standard ( basic I don't think I can justify now having fab sky glass )
I didn't realise that premium Netflix includes Dolby atmos and vision wow
Makes it hard to say no to really
Hard say if I can tell but least I can opt in out as and when
Again thanks
