Hi ,i have been having problems where the games i play feel slow and out of sync
I have tried , port fowarding , always use an ethernet cable, qos ,staticip
My ping and buffer bloat are good but for some reason my gaming experiance is awful , scaratcing my head why?
Also im thinking of upgrading to 145 mbs but it says a engineer visit is required what does this intail?

Also i forgot to mention i have tethered my 4g internet to my pc and the connection is considerably better even with the high ping and jitter compared to my sky broadband

What's the latency (ping) to the server you're playing on?
Assuming Windows then open a command prompt (Start menu - search then cmd) and run a ping -t to the server while you're playing.
From what you've posted then the 4G connection should be worse.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhat games exactly? Often this kind of behaviour can be attributed to overloaded routes to the gameserver itself.

Indeed and one of the things about Sky is it has excellent peering links at LINX and AMS-IX which normally means low latency.

Thanks for the replys , games im playing are EA Games , Apex , Fifa and madden , ping is usualy 15-30 ms d when connected to the server and the same when p2p.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe forum often see's posts about EA games this time of year with the release of Fifa etc. I suspect the problem is as I initally said, saturated/overloaded links to EA's servers.

If its EA servers then all bets are off 🙂
EA = junk, always has, always will.
