Hi I have very elderly parents who are confused as to whether or not they actually need broadband. They do have a laptop but only use it to skype their son once a month in Canada. Basically I am asking what is the difference between Wifi and broadband and would they need broadband to skype? It seems an awful lot of money to pay for their BB if they rarely it. If they didn't have broadband would this affect their sky television viewings. sorry if this appears a silly question but like my parents I am technologically challenged!

Also if the don't have broadband the would just be able to watch live satellite broadcasts but not catch or on demand programmes
