Broadband speed dropping
I currently have superfast Broadband but this has been dropping speed for a while, with two teenagers in the house this doesn't go down very well. Having checked my broadband speed it's showing that since 26th January dropped from 21.0 to 5.9 and has never gone back to normal and even going as low as 2.1. I have been testing and trying to run the online fix my broadband and few days later I received an email saying as they can't fix the problem as quick as they want then I have the right to leave. Last Wednesday after testing my broadband again (as I have done most days lately) I was told an engineer needed to attend. I received a txt Thursday morning advising the fault had been fixed and to keep an eye on my line as it continues to improve. This has not fixed anything. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you fix it? Many thanks

Re: Broadband speed dropping
@JP821 each copper phone line used for partial fibre broadband services has a minmum speed set by Openreach. Due to the age of the line this can become impossible to meet without major work. Given Openreaxh are planning to decommission the whole copper network and switch to full fibre in the next few years they are increasingly unwilling to do more than superficial work on these lines which is why you have the offer of releasing you from contract as Sky cannot do anything more. The last message is simply telling you the fault report has been closed not thst the issue has been resolved.
This is fine if you have access to a different connection like Virgin Media's network or mobile broadband is a usable option but as this mainly affects rural lines those are often not an option as switching to another isp using the same line is pointless. At some point full fibre will be run to your home by Openreach but thst can be several years off. Starlink is probably an option but thst is pricy.
