Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI'd suggest raising this with the customer support for Disney +. They are the owners and maintainers of the app that runs on the Sky platform but most likely the app as of yet doesn't support 4k.

The Sky Stream Box?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis is the problem when issues occur on one of the apps as the apps are supported by the company whose app it is, So they usually just spend time blaming Sky and Sky blame them because Sky have no control over the app and you don't actually get the issue fixed.
in all seriousness it just sounds like Disney haven't bothered to test the 4k streaming on the app they provide as surely they would then see the issue.

But surly the same problem would accour on other devices such as a smart Tv, disneuplus plays fine in 4k on sky q

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreNo, as it's a custom app they deployed and run for the Sky streaming devices. Sky use their own operating system so the app is different to the versions deployed on other smart TVs.
disnye have to create a version of the app for each operating system it's running on. Also some customizations are needed for the Sky smart search to work. It's the reason the list of apps is more limited of the glass/stream as they require unique versions.

It's a shame really when Disney are the best when it comes to video and audio quality.

I currently own Sky Q and have the issue where Disney + is only HD. If I use the Samsung TV Disney app I can get 4K? I still don't know why aha

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreStream / glass Disney app is uhd. Not all of the programming is available in uhd
this is not the sky q forum . If I remember rightly some of the sky q mini boxes (if not all) are not 4K / uhd compatible.... only the main q box

Jporch316 are you saying you are able to use Disney plus in UHD on your sky stream? That's what the original post is trying to determine as everyone else seems to only be able to receive HD.

Disney+ via Sky Stream definitely supports UHD, HDR10 and Atmos because it works perfectly well on my setup...
