It's been more than 10 days with my router left on 23/7 and i think i have had only one time when the upload speed has been above 100mbit, download speed has always been as advertised though.
This is just pathetic. It is a ftth connection, i am using a dlink usb 2 dongle, connected to a pc, which is capable of upto 300mbit down. I can sit next to the sky router and the results are the same there as they are in the rooms above and the rest of the house. I have used various test sites and chosen the servers close to me, and not close to me. Sky's own "test" lol, only shows useless info for whether we get a signal etc, what about actual numbers, latency etc, these would be helpfull .
So my bill should be small, as going by the percentage i'm actually getting lol
I can supply sky router info, but that seems ok, as per upload/download ratings/ capabilities. I also live on a new build small estate, less than 100 homes, so i don't believe over subribed is the problem.

Right, your guess about the dongle is some of the cause.
I went through it's settings and changed between 2.4 only, 2.4 and 5g, and 5g only. Then i tested with it's "prefer 5g only mode enabled".
The final test, ignore the "speed test sites and the speed test file sites" and i just downloaded a video from youtube with jdownloader.
The results are as follows
Dongle set to 5g only = proper speeds
Dongle set to 4g and 5g mode and set to "prefer 5g mode only" = proper speeds
Dongle set to anything using 4g only = snails pace.
Speeds remained poor if i tried those speed test sites, no matter which server i switched to.. really unhelpful sites indeed.
This dongle did not have any instructions on how to change it's advanced settings, good job i remembered to look for these settings from experience.

I can't see an edit post option so here are my speed test screen grabs once again, they're not showing in my original post.

Have you tried the connection on a device connected via ethernet? Sky (nor any other ISP'S) guarantee upload speeds, only download, and these are only via a wired connection, not WiFi.
Is it upload or download speed that's the issue? In the thread title you say download, then in the post you say download is as advertised?
I suspect it could be your dongle that is part of the issue...they're not usually very good at doing what they are supposed to...

That's presumably the manufacturer's claim: I'd suggest it's extremely unlikely in real life.
