As an Apple TV+ subscriber, I was surprised to see Sky offering 6 months free as part of the VIP rewards package,
I wondered how this would work so phoned Sky support to check.
1st guy I got didn't sound too sure himself & couldn't find any mention of existing subscribers eligibility & told me it was nothing to do with Sky, just an external Apple trial so I came away thinking I was unable to take part.
looking at the sign up page, in the My Sky app, it definitely quoted available to "existing Apple TV+ subscribers" so I phoned Sky support again.
2nd guy seemed much more informed & immediately told me the procedure.
1. Cancel existing subscription (simple button press in Apple ID settings on phone)
2. Apply for trial via Sky VIP rewards
3. Link is instantly generated (click & follow)
4. 6 month signup confirmed.
was also sent a link to a help file explaining the procedure but despite setting & confirming my Microsoft id, can't access it

Hi @Deet - what exactly is the message if you see when you click on the link generation within the My Sky App?

Cant remember exactly now, just takes you through a signup confirmation process, all worked seamlessly

Sorry if I misled you Mark, I was aiming to be helpful to anyone else considering the offer & to show that unfortunately the level of support varies between support team members.

Ah cool, yeah the customer services can be hit and missed, it normally depends who you end up with and how you get pass the initial automated system. If you say and press the right thing you end up getting to a more useful person.
Normally by deafault you go to the general Sky HelpDesk which is based offshore and all they do it follow standard scripts, however if you can get to a more knowledgable department the first time your experience is always 10000% times.
Its a shame Sky changed the way their customer services switchboard works since ComCast took them over, they were much better 3 or 4 years ago.
