The choice is yours actually if you dont want ads pay for the ad-free version directly Sky Cinema will be £10.00 regardless if the ad version is included at no extra cost or you pay ParamountPlus directly for the ad-free version @xenon81

Paramount+, the global media giant’s flagship streaming service, is launching its cheaper, ad-funded tier in the UK later this month, with Sky Media retained to handle ad sales.
(Sky are already the ad sales agent for Paramount's UK channels including Channel 5, MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central).

I for one will be cancelling Sky Cinema. I watch more on Paramount than sky cinema, so guess they'll be getting my money from now on.
That is assuming sky will let me cancel cinema, as I've only been a subscriber for 4 months.
There is no doubt at all for me that having paramount was a key deciding factor in me choosing sky cinema

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHave no issues with adverts in apps, often on Disney and Netfix they are rare anyway with just a brief countdown.
Finding though, they are a bit more frequent on Paramount+. I'm on P+ Basic (with ads) through Sky. Sky Cinema offering.
But, do find that the P+ ones on my Sky Stream pucks occasionally stall sometimes on the ad countdown and stay stalled for a few seconds, before continuing.
Have done a Sky Stream settings restart and the like.
Anyone else seeing this?

Yes kept cliching much I gave up. Tried getting paramount+ by paying the 7.99 without adverts package separately. But my telly is to old to get paramount app and sky just defaults to basic.

Strangely enough it's been ok this morning watching a few episodes of 1923.
So maybe, it was a temporary glitch their end.
You could always log out of your P+ account(Sky Cinema free one) on your Sky box and login with another P+ account (would have to be a different email address for that account than the Sky free account one) that you are paying for elsewhere like Google Play or direct to P+.

They posted this 7 days before the change, is that legal and we should be able to cancel Cinema now even if still in contract as this breaches the contract I would think..

I tried to cancel Cinema and they said as I am still in contract they wanted £60, even though I pointed out that they have changed the contract that I only took out to get Paramount plus, I would not have had Cinema otherwise so this is also miss selling. Its impossible to watch as the adverts are so frequent and long

They charge you for Sky Cinema, P+ is an extra bonus at NO EXTRA cost (efectively FREE), they have not miss sold you Sky Cinema as they have not change Sky Cinema
If you wanted P+ more than Sky Cinema then why did you not just sub to P+ directly which would have been cheaper?

Wondering if it's possible to upgrade Paramount Basic (included with Sky+) so I can watch without ads?

I'm in the same boat as the person you just replied to. Paramount was a -major- part of my decision making process to get sky cinema.
You have your opinion, which is that it's free and shouldn't be considered when making a decision, but many people don't feel as you do. For us it was a major component of the decision, and sky changing this changes our overall view of if sky cinema is now worth it.
