Tried watching Landman last night. Gave up. Watching good TV is supposed to be an immersive experience. Adverts being served every ten minutes is the equivalent of having someone munching smelly nachos behind you at the cinema (words for whoever had the bright idea to sell them as a movie threatre snack). It completely ruins the flow and makes the programme unwatchable.
As much as I love Tulsa King and the Yellowstone universe, I will no longer watch them on Paramount + (or ever) unless there is an option to upgrade to ad free. There is other good content out there on platforms that dont feel the need to shoot themselves in the foot.
I care not whose fault it is (keep pointing fingers at each other Sky & Paramount and see what good it does you) I just know I have now checked out of Paramopunt + for the foreseeable future. Life's too short to put up with idiocy, especially in the name of profit.

It's worth looking to see if your preferred program is also being streamed elsewhere. I was halfway though watching elimentary on paramount plus when the ads first started I read that it was not sky but paramount plus doing this. I put up with it for a few episodes but 8 mins of ads split into 4or 5 breaks in a 50 min show was enough to p!!!me off so I looked around and found the same box set on prime which I also have with no ads so just started watching it on prime going forward I will only ever watch something on paramount plus if I can't get it in one of the other streaming services I already have. Next will be my discussion with Sky on why my sky fees are not reduced as I was getting a £7.99 pm paramount plus product and now am getting a £4.99 pm paramount product.

Because it was 'no extra cost' with Sky Cinema and now it's still 'no extra cost' with Sky Cinema?

@Phil+Jane you aren't paying £7.99 or even £4.99 the wording is included at no extra cost
The offer was with Sky Cinema and it was worth £7.99 but now its worth £4.99 so it's zero pounds and zero pence

The cost of the package is irrelevant the contract at the start was an additional streaming service that had little or no ads which enhanced the sky cinema package a bonus which was designed to attract people to taking on sky cinema. The very least Sky should have done was to honour the as free package until the sky cinema contract was up

Can you point to that in Sky's terms and conditions?

I am sure your correct , and I am sure the T&Cs say it can be changed or withdrawn at any time . but it did have an open market value which has changed and was used as an incentive tool to encourage customers to pay for the Sky Cinema option . Ether way its made me look at my usage and I realise I dont actually watch Sky Cinema very often as I tend to watch on other streaming services ,So without Paramount plus with no ads I am actually now for the first time in 20 something years thinking of cancelling my sky cinema which will save me some money every year . interestingly I have never considered this before so indirectly paramount plus doing what they have done will reduce my sky fees going forward .

Paramounts business decisions are nothing to do with Sky!

Perhaps if they had the option to do that they would have, but Paramount pulled that tier so it wasn't available for Sky to offer any longer.
If you look back at what happened when Netflix introduced ads, Sky were able to continue offering the non-ad tier as part of their "netflix at no extra cost" for longer than Netflix customers were able to keep the old tier and they could only do that because Netflix kept the old tier around for their third party resellers for a longer period ( which I'm sure was mainly due to Netflix having to carry out IT changes with their integrations between them and third parties like Sky in order to incorporate their new tiering model). Seemingly Paramount have taken a different approach to things.

No one is saying that 🙄 knowing and having any influence in the outcome are two separate things

I don't know why people are surprised by this. You don't want ads? You've got to pay for it. It's been commonplace for years now on many streaming services.
ITVX Premium, Channel 4+, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, NOW, etc.... they're all doing it. I've no doubt Channel 5 will do the same when their revamped 5 app launches soon...

It's really noticeable that all so-called 'Superusers' who have replied to this thread are without exception defensive of Sky's involvement in this change. (removed)The fact is that the Paramount+ service is now unusable on Sky due to the sheer number of ads inserted into every programme. That isn't good for either us customers or Sky themselves.
