The thing that I do not understand is how are T.N.T. going to squeeze 6 channels worth of sport in to 4. I am prsuming that will be on the red button. Also very sad that as from 2026. The Tour de France will now longer be on I.T.V. 4. I am just so disappionted by the news. After many years of saving both Eurosport channels twice on Sky E.P.G s. It was not Brexit but U.S. Capatlisim that ended Eurosport in the U.K. N. Ireland and The Republic of Ireland. £30 a month is too much for the T.N.T. sport app and T.N.T. have now admitted that Eurosport branding will have the same long ad-breaks same presenters and even the sam mircophones with the Eurosport E on the mikes. Also on my Smart T.V. Discovery + does not load. (removed)

@theredhouse55555 I gather you didn't tune into any of the 18 matches played last night via TNT Sports same 4 channels not a red button in sight so you presumed wrong.

I know that the four English team games were on the 4 TNT linear channels. What method did TNT use to show the other 14 games?

Fair comment @oj01 all the available matches were lined up like this I was flicking from one match to another no red button with the option Watch from start or Watch live

Another 18 games tonight so give it a go but definitely no red button option.

@best+of+the+best thanks for that. I have Sky+HD so obviously can't do any of that. Was asking really for @theredhouse55555 who wants to record content that they currently do on Eurosport. Tonight, for example, alongside the 18 games there is live snooker on Eurosport. Football will always get the priority of the linear channels so anyone currently recording the snooker on Eurosport wouldn't be able to going forward. What is TNT/Discovery+ App like for Catch Up of full replays (rather than just highlights) ?

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

Discovery+ app was not too bad (replay. catch up wise) for the tennis (recent Australian Open and French Opens)  -  no huge delays in replays appearing.  But its not been super well organisied, so can take a bit of horizontal scrolling on the replay row to find..   I'd give it a 7/10, from my expericen with the tennis grand slams.

Not sure of thats helpful or not!

Aren't they merging Discovery + into Max when it launches in 2026 in the UK, so i'd imagine there would be quite a UI overhaul if thats the case.

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

indeed they are - though from end feb 25 until the Max laucnh in 26, those wanting the streaming platform stuff from TNT Sports will be using the Discovery+ app.......hence sharing my experience of it, at least for the tennis grand slams that i've used it for.

But yeah, from 26 onwards we'll be using a TNT Sports tile / section within Max - so no idea how bad / good it will be.

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

My favourite sport is rallying and the World Rally Championship (WRC) is on BT Sport. It's from the WRC service called All Live and every stage over 3 full days is shown live.

Already they switch coverage between the TNT Sport channels 1-4 to show other stuff that's maybe more popular, but at least it's on them. So I can record it on my Sky box which is so useful as it often starts very early due to the time zones of the various countries where Rallies take place.

If Eurosport big sports are to be broadcast on TNT Sports 1-4 too I fear the WRC will be relegated to the red button and no recording will be possible.

No doubt that there will not be a reduction in subscription for the loss of this channel. It's funny how contracts always work in favour of those with power

@oj01 Highlights and full match replays are available not a snooker person so not sure which match replay you are wanting to watch

@theredhouse55555

Action means full match and highlights means highlights

Oh the Discovery+ app is fine but on Smart t.v.s it is slow slow. On Amazon Prime Video it is great but no longer I fear after February 28th.

"To be fair Eurosport 1 and 2 has been a free channel for a couple of years and Eurosport and T.N.T. are nothing to do with Sky."

It's not free if you are paying a Sky subscription and only watch a  few of the channels.

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

Oh dear, I think the cycling was about the last thing I watched on Sky over the summer.

Obviously there'll be no price reduction (there never is, only ever increases). I remember this happened years ago when Sky channels were removed from cable TV in the UK (about when Virgin media started I think).

Cancel at the end of our contract I think, not actually worth anything to us now.

You don't get a price reduction for a non-premium channel lineup change

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

I've been in touch with Sky asking how much their subs will decrease given the material loss of service. They've confirmed in writing "The decision not to reduce the monthly cost is based on the overall value and range of content that remains available to you as part of your subscription."

Forgive me, Eurosport is a fundamental part of my contracted package. We are not talking about the loss of a few shows, it's two complete sport channels with excellent channels.

(removed)

This isnt how customers should be treated. Feels like simple profit motivation. My contract runs until Oct, and after 20 odds yrs it's time to move on.

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

Nope fully aware of that.

No doubt there will be a mid contract rise in a few months too, just to reflect the increased cost of providing less.

We've still got the dish actually so I think a Freesat recorder box is probably the answer for now.

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25

To be honest I would not put any of Eurosport*s contect on the 4 T.N.T. sports channels [and I type this as a winter sport and Cycling fan.] By that I mean the sports rights on T.N.T. are so much stronger then Eurosport.
