Can anyone tell me why sky glass has a separate option for sky broadband? Why is it necessary and could it be a signpost toward why so many people not using sky broadband have signal drop problems that we (i) never had before switching to another broadband supplier?
thanks for reading

Sorry not following your post. You can use Sky Glass on any broadband service. You do not need to purchase broadband from Sky and Glass doesn't come with broadband.
I myself use BT fibre to the premises, with BT supplied router (with some settings altered), and have a Glass TV and four pucks working on Wi-Fi with no issues.

Find out moreWhat I think @eb154 is asking is because there is a separate setup option for Sky Broadband customers in the menu that there must be something different in settings. All I think the difference is if you select Sky Broadband it will ask you to press WPS.
Sky Broadband
Other broadband
Ethernet

Thanks for the answer. However, I switched from Sky to Virgin (because Sky wouldn't match the price). Ever since then I've had problems. I've tried wi-fi, WAP Wi-Fi, and hardwired to an Apple AirPort Express with no lasting success. I've tried running wireless diagnostics, but it picked up zero drops. I've tried using 2.4ghz and 5ghz separately. We have no issues with any other device (5 of); just the tv. Our router has no obstructions between it and the tv. They are about 4 metres apart. Stumped!

Still not getting anywhere with this problem. The 'drop in signal' (I'm doubting that's what it is) does not affect any other device we own. Also, we have a NOWTV box next to the Sky Glass and hardwired to it (hdmi) getting its signal from the router via Wi-Fi and I can watch an entire live football match (heavy on bandwidth) without a glitch. Is this £25 box actually better than this £650 Sky Glass TV? Ridiculous!

When you connected the Glass to ethernet did you turn off the WiFi option in the Glass network settings?
Thanks,
