Yes but as it's not a notification the agent took over 4 hours to respond

That's correct. With the chat process you initially have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you need to check the chat thread fairly regularly.
The escalation process is now unavailable until Thursday 28 December. If you prefer to call Sky we’ve been informed the phone lines will be open:
Christmas Eve ~ 0900 til 1800
Christmas Day ~ 0900 til 1800
Boxing Day ~ 0800 til 2000
New Years Eve ~ 0900 til 1800
New Years Day ~ 0800 til 2100
Other days will be normal hours.
