When I took out my Sky broadband deal I was told to go with the Sky max wifi hub so that when fibre arrives in my area I will be automatically switched over!!!!!!
(removed)
Then when fibre arrived I was told I had to sign into a new contract and pay £53 a month just for broadband. An extra £20 more than I was told. 30 MPBS
VODAFONE OFFER 500 MPBS FOR £29

Sounds like you are now 'out of contract' though and discounts expired. You may only be able to get a 'new customer' price by switching.

Unfortunately that was poor advice: there's no link between a WiFi Max subscription and an automatic move to FTTP. The Max Hub hardware is compatible with an optical connection, but so is the Broadband Hub.
