Our broadband has been down since early Tuesday morning. Get no updates from sky and it just says they're aware of the issue and working on it. That was 3 days ago and no idea when it will be up and running. I'm in east grinstead West Sussex.

If the repair involves digging up the road or pavement OR will have to seek permission from the local council to do so and then assemble a crew to carry out the work which adds to the delay.
This link outlines auto compensation for when there is a total loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation
If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full working days from when you first report the fault to Sky, you will become eligible for it, It’s applied 30 days after the fault has been repaired and will come in the form of a credit appearing on your account.

We have exactly the same issue in East Grinstead and no broadband and the message never changes just says an outage and might take a couple of days but a couple of days has passed and still no change sky are very frustrating I am completely reliant on broadband for work if this keeps up I will have to think about changing provider

If you move to another provider using the Openreach infrastructure the problem will just move with you.
