Poor wifi coverage following ful fibre fitting.
We were fitted with full fibre broadband 2 days ago. Despite being told by sky telephone caller that this would improve my coverage I do not get wifi more than 10metres from my Router. It is in the open and all tests say it is working well. If you are considering having full fibre do not do it unless you live in a shed. Despite several phone calls Sky cannot provide me with a booster🥵

Re: Poor wifi coverage following ful fibre fitting.
@Bill551 a lot depends on what is in the 10m obviously if its air there is no issue but throw in a couple of solid walls and yes WiFi speeds drop it is simple physics. Sky will supply boosters but I guess you are unwilling to fork out the extra for their WiFi Max bundle?
It is a myth that improving speds to the hub will always increase speeds to devices around your home which catches out people regularly. Having 900Mb/s bandwidth at the hub makes zero difference if the WiFi connection to the PC is someone's bedroom only gets 30Mb/s over WiFi. In many homes ( not just sheds) you need more than a single wifi source to give usable coverage. While you can but Sky's soliution you can also buy and use your own equipment loads of choice at various prices. My own system gives me over 150Mb/s in every room in a 3 level property for roughly £100.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: Poor wifi coverage following ful fibre fitting.
Thank you. There realky isn't anything that should hamper coverage. Only a small 2 bed bungalow. I would have considered the max bundle if I knew there was a problem with coverage. It all worked fine before and sky's call centre sold it to me by saying it would improve coverage!! I would have refused the fibre had I known or they told me the truth. I think, due to misleading information, sky could offer a booster free of charge. I was offered the boost for 4 pound a month but that was only for a limited time. I am struggling to pay my monthly bill as things stand.
