Alternate modem

I have an Orbi WiFi router and satellites and want to switch out the sky hub fo something that supports bridge mode so I don't double NAT.

I have a technicolor tg588v v2 modem/router which I set up in bridge mode and the leds claim to be connected but the orbi says it can't connect to the Internet when I connect it up. Has anyone else got a tg588v v2 working in a similar setup? Is there anything I need to check the tg588v spec for compatibility?

Thanks!

@Hatlessss  If you have FTTC (Superfast) then the Technicolour router won't work as it cannot support DCHP Option 60/61 (unless anyone knows different) which Sky uses on their FTTC service

Re: Alternate modem

Thanks. Is there a recommended low cost modem for superfast? Or list of compatible modems?

@Hatlessss  If you do a search in the forum for 3rd party routers there are lots of recommendations.

Out of interest, why don't you want to double NAT?

NAT is a very general term covering  many different mechanisms.

Double NAT can hamper a fair few things such as devices using UPnP, Gaming, VOIP
