Twitter support won't escalate it for me and instead tried to tell me I needed to use broadband shield! 😆
I haven't actually rang the tech support teams as I really can't face hours of dancing through pointless hoops and/or dealing with people who don't understand.
I tried changing DNS to 8.8.8.8, didn't help.

I hope they sort this out soon I'm having the issues with Alexa and random web sites not working and i'm using the sky hub.

I've had issues since 6.30am

I don't blame you. I tried speaking to someone about this issue this morning, but gave up as they couldn't even comprehend that I wasn't using Sky supplied hardware. They concluded that I wasn't using Sky broadband as they couldn't reach the Sky router 😫 This is a technical issue which requires third line support. I'm just hoping that someone from Sky reads this thread and escalates it internally to people who actually understand.

Currently with'Greg' on live chat via message us on the complaints page on Sky website.
Sky twitter may be helping 'I'm checking in with the relevant team to check for any known issues '.

Same issue here, random sites not working. Hurry up and fix it Sky

Just to chime in with my issues (thanks Gavin on downdetector for pointing me here).
All my alexa devices are offline, but ping OK. I'm not using the brick thats the sky router, but an Edgemax with approiate DHCP options and a mesh wifi (Orbi).
I fully reset 2 alexa, fat lot of good that did. Spent the last 5 hours messing about with router reconfigs, dropping 5ghz network, rebooting everything in sight. Trying the same things several times, just in case.
I've asked friends if there systems are working, even one who is on sky as well and they are OK.
Defintely odd.
Will monitor this thread and if I get my back will update here.
Just in case this is region specific, I'm in East Yorkshire near the sea.

Still dead here on Ring system or accessing www.ring.com

www.ring.com does not connect for me either, but I can ping it.

I took some network packet traces earlier today and it looks to me like it's the problem affects SSL/TLS connections. Regular HTTP traffic on port 80 seems to work fine to these sites, but TLS flows are being interrupted. It's maybe some kind of traffic shaping or network optimisation that is doing the damage here.

I really wish I came on these forums instead of spending the evening trying to fix my parents internet issues. I knew something strange was up when every device in their home was working except for Ring and Alexa.
I set my phone up as a hotspot with the same WiFi name and immediately all the Alexa devices started working, so that narrowed the problem down to the router or the connection. Reset the router just in case but no luck.
The Alexa devices have started working now, I thought it might have been a DNS issue and connecting via my phone meant that it was using cached DNS, but there were other issues that didn't convince me and I'm pleased to see other people confirming there is a routing issue. There's only so much diagnosing I can do from a mobile phone 😞
Fingers crossed someone from Sky reads this and does something about this. My exact words to my parents earlier was "I think I know what the issue is, but trying to find someone at sky that will understand and actually believe me is going to be the fun part", and it seems like you guys have experienced exactly what I have feared.
Their contract is up for renewal so maybe a threat of cancellation might get Sky Support to escalate it 🙂

Just checked PlusNet and Vodafone forums for the same issues - None.
So must be tied to a Sky BB issue.
