Hello All
At last, we have some more FTTP in Truro
So Openreach have been and installed the cable from the pole to the house, the final install is being completed on the 3rd of January by a Sky engineer
My Question is, how accommodating are the Sky Engineers?
I need the cable to come from the CSP, then go through the wall into the loft where I can assist by pulling through and down a 20mm solid tube to my office below where I will install a "Brush Plate" where the cable can come out to the ONT
Thanks

Sky has only been carrying out second stage installs for a short time so it's difficult to say. What you are describing is outside the remit of a 'standard' installation though, and Sky personnel typically won't either drill into or enter unconverted loft space.

It's a bungalow, so the height of the hole will only be about 10' from the ground
I will personally go in the loft and pull the cable through and down the tube, I can't see this being a problem.
I did the same thing when my Sky Q was installed, the engineer drilled the hole, and I pulled the cable through to above and into the lounge

True, although fibre optic cable is not as fragile as people think, it can't have any sharp bends though

So, it's all up and running now !
Took a few days, Openreach unfortunately had my connection on the wrong splitter, but to their credit it was fixed quickly

On the install day I changed my mind how we were going to do it from my original plan, so we ran the cable from the CSP along the wall on the outside straight though into my office

I was told running the connection externally is preferrred due in part to the miimum radius curves that have to be used. My own connection was run from the ONT to the CSP not the other way round due I suspect to the fitment that plugs into the ONT was already on the made up cable.

Yes, the plug was pre-fitted on the cable, so it would have been a pain in the butt feeding it via my original plan
Luckily, the fibre comes in exactly where I wanted it, so all good in the end
All running on my Draytek 2865 router, will post set up guide for this when I some spare time

Strictly speaking it's a simplex single-mode 9/125 OS2 fibre pigtail preterminated with an SC APC plug.
