Discussion topic: Cant access online bank login page

If I click on login (or register) (top right), it hangs for ages and gives up after a minute or so.

All the other pages on that site seem to load just fine.

The error code is PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

I'm on a Win11 laptop via WiFi. Have tried Firefox, Chrome and Edge. All the same. My wife's PC does exactly the same.

But...

I can access from my 4G phone no problem.

I can access via my laptop using a proxy, no problem (proxysite.com)

I can access via my laptop IF I use my phone as a hotspot and use 4G, no problem.

I have tried turning off firewalls etc...no effect

I have messed with the router settings (temporarily turning settings on/off)...no effect

I've run out of ideas

BTW: It hasn't always been like this, a couple of months back it was fine!

Another possibly related oddity is www.diy.com : for that one, any category or search comes back saying connection problem:

"We're unable to reach the page you've requested.

Please check your network connection and try again."

and if I use their retry button...same. But if I click refresh, there it is...content appears.

Fixed!

Thanks to VERY helpful chap at Sky.

He got me to power down the router for at least 10mins. Seriously, that's it! Fixed!

Apparently forces a new connection session.
