Mobile data not working on new phone

Hi, I got my son a new SIM free phone but the mobile data won't work. Everything else is working fine, ie text, calls and on WiFi. I spoke with a sky agent on one of the pop up stalls who recommended rolling over data as he hadn't used the SIM for a while but that hasn't worked. Please could you offer some more advice

Was the phone from Sky ?

 

If so try getting the network settings sent to the phone:

 

Go to sky.com/networksettings (My Account > Mobile > Settings) and sign in with your Sky iD.
Select the mobile number or SIM name you're having trouble with.
Scroll to 'Resend network settings' and select Request settings.
Save the settings when your receive them and reboot your phone.

I ended up Rin up sky and they had to do something there end to make it work, some code or something, hope this is helpful

I have rang sky several times and each time they have done some trouble shooting with me. Nothing is working. They also sent me a replacement sim but nothing working either

Have got the same problem (android phone) followed your advice and have received the a text that says sky will send settings and a have given me a PIN number in case needed.  So far nothing else has happened.  What is the next step.  Don't even know how to get to network settings.  Can you help?

You can also create the setting yourself as it should be found at somewhere like - 

Settings > Mobile Data > Create New Access Point...

 

Name: Sky Mobile Internet

APN: mobile.sky

 

Save and the reboot your phone.

Ive got the same issue. Iphone 15, mobile data not working. Spent hours on phone to sky. Switched to esim card. Been given a complaint number and told to wait 48 hours. 😟

Just seen these comments. My wife's iPhone 11 was working until about 6-7 weeks ago when she couldn't access data unless connected to WiFi.  Have contacted Sky a number of times and followed instructions over the phone but none have worked. They have promised to call me back on each occasion but have failed.  This is not the first time that Sky have provided a handset that has then developed faults. I've got a complaint in progress.

I am exactly in the same situation as you and sky said wait 48-72hrs still no data working cant evwn send or recieve texts when outside but can with wifi at home

I'm in the same boat. Ported my number from Vodafone. Got the new phone from sky and it worked fine up until the point they ported my number on Monday. Now mobile data won't work and none of their troubleshooting helps. It's obviously an error at their end- the phone and SIM both worked fine on the original number

Adding the APN worked for me but I am not getting any 5G. Any ideas?
