Hi,
I recently got a new phone and data plan and when the sim card came I activated it using the replacement sim option instead of new sim card as I wanted to keep my number. Now this new sim card is just using my old data plan. How can I switch this to my new data plan keeping my old number?

Find out moreI'm afraid you have gone about this the wrong way because you can not move a number between two Sky sims so your options are to keep using your other sim or transfer that number out to a PAYG network then back again to this new Sky sim that you have activated. At present if you do have two Sky sims you will be billed for the both of them.

All you've done is move your current dataplan to the new SIM. (The new dataplan will drop off your account if it's not activated within 30 days)
But, as above, you cannot transfer numbers between SIMs. Unless Sky are prepared to apply the new dataplan to your existing SIM (unlikely) then the only workaround is to enable a new SIM, port the old number out of the network and then back to the new SIM.
