WiFi signal after a phone call

Hello,

Does anyone know why my WiFi signal drops when someone phones me on my landline (which is also with Sky). I always have to wait a few minutes and try and re-connect my Sky Q box and other devices connected to my home internet via WiFi?

Does your phone connect to the socket on your wall or into the Sky hub?

Is the 'landline' connecting to a fixed telephone handset or a DECT cordless phone base station?

That would be the primary suspect, then.  You don't want this anywhere near the Sky Hub.

For an FTTC connection you'd also want a filtered master socket or a plug-in microfilter.

On the same socket or an extension, and is it behind a filter?

It's in a completely different socket. I wouldnt call it an extension as the both sockets were put in when it was build, about 15 years agoi

Unless you have two phone numbers, it's an extension socket. A phone plugged into an extension should be on a microfilter if the master socket isn't a prefiltered model: this should remove the possibility that the phone ringing is knocking the router offline.
