@JamesHannaford If there was no ether net cable in the box then you have 2 options, you can either call Sky and ask them to send one(may get a whole new router sent) or pop to a local tech shop and buy one.

@JamesHannaford

The cat 5e ethernet cable (sky calll it a conversion kit) is usually sent out a wee bit before the router.  You should be able to get one from argos, currys and pc world. Just make sure its category 5e at least

Hi, I'm having issues with my set up. When I connect the WiFi box to the mains and connect the Ethernet cable to the wan/lan 4 port, everything seems to be working except the fact that the internet does not seem to work. Do I need a DSL cable? I'm not sure the house has fibre but all suggestions welcome. See attached pictures.

An ethernet cable cannot work in a prefiltered master telephone socket, and such a socket cannot connect with an ethernet port on the Hub.

Re: Missing parts in broadband box

That cable doesn't go into a master socket, it goes into a Full FIbre ONT, a box probably on an outside wall with LEDs on it. What service have you subscribed to?

If you've subscribed to Part Fibre then yes you need a DSL cable. Hopefully you haven't damaged the master socket.

If you subscribed to Full FIbre then you need to find the ONT. If there isn't one then you should have an appointment to fit. one.

Re: Missing parts in broadband box

I've subscribed to full fibre 75, but also sky glass if that changes anything? I can't see an ONT - who do I contact about fitting one? Thanks

Re: Missing parts in broadband box

While full fibre 75 is possible, I'm not sure Sky offer it? Please check your documents for what that says.

Unfortunately this forum heavily censors images, including yours.

Re: Missing parts in broadband box

Yes sky offer full fibre 75 as it is the renamed package for superfast to move it in line with other provider naming via the speed but don't know why anyone would go for it since the 100 and 150 is usually cheaper

Re: Missing parts in broadband box

Apologies for doubting you.

If you use the link i posted it should both confirm that Full Fibre is available, & at the bottom will advise if an ONT should be present.

Although I've just re-read your OP with activation due tomorrow. So I'd expect you to have an appointment for the ONT to be installed tomorrow if it doesn't already exist.

Should probably look into this! I'm a first time buyer so not sure what I'm doing truthfully!
