My internet is yet down again. All this money I pay per month and on average it cuts off once or twice every few months. It's totally unacceptable. What's the issue for it going down this evening then?

If your connection is back to normal this morning it is safe to assume that was the issue

That would presumably suggest an intermittent external line fault in the external Openreach cabling infrastructure which would affect any other ISP using the same infrastructure.

Once or twice every 3 months, and that's unacceptable? Talk about first world problems.
Show me where in the T&C's any ISP whether it's Sky, BT, Virgin, Vodafone, etc etc say they will provide you with a 100% uninterrupted service, for all of time, all for a measly sum of less than £1 a day...

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreUnfortunate on the majority of the occasions it will be down to openreach issues on the infrastructure and there isn't much you can do. If your service is down consistently for a long period you can try and make a refund claim for the length of the outage.
These issues will be common depending what ISP you are using unless you switch to a fibre broadband package from an ISP that uses another third party cable network (like Virgin or community fibre) and not the openreach network. However even with these other operators you will still notice overnight maintenance and issues occurring as cables are damaged/break in their network.
