I had an openreach engineer booked to come on 28th December to upgrade my line to ultra broadband and they guy never turned up and I had a message saying he could not access the property. I was in all day and moved everything in the room to make access .He never knocked on door or called or anything g just had a message saying he was arriving but he never came.Now I have a new date of 26th January which is another 30 day wait is there anything I can do to get a closer date and will I be compensated ?

One clue is the speed of the service you've ordered: 150Mbs can be delivered using either technology, but 500Mbs and Gigafast has to be FTTP.

If engineer does not turn up you can claim £25 compensation

It's fttp all work has been completed was just waiting on the engineer. Got to wait another month now fumming I'm only getting 18mb at moment .

Unfortunately even if the external work has been completed you still need an installer trained and equipped for optical cable fusion splicing to get the fibre pigtail in place from the CSP to the ONT, and such personnel are in short supply from both Openreach and Sky themselves.

I wouldn't have minded if he could have come back the following day etc but he messaged saying he was on way through open reach website and I saw him pull up outside house got out van looked at house and then started raining outside and just drove off never knocked on door or anything . Just because he couldn't be bothered iv gotta wait another month.
