I have just spent a delightful 24 minutes on phone to another continent temporarily suspending my F1 channel for the end of season 21st November 2022 giving them the required 31 days notice.
Simple question, do I need to give them 31 days notice to re-instate next year for 1st race on 3rd March 2023, or can I phone them on the day?

Now, I was absolutely clear to the young lady that I wanted the suspension to proceed from the 21st November 2022 (The Monday following the race). I made her repeat the date back to me, she even went to speak to a supervisor, and she confirmed that would be no problem. However, due to the language issues, I fully expect it to be screwed up. Such a shame that Sky does not permit such a simple transaction online suspensions as then I would be confident of it working out properly. I have little confidence it will be done to me request, but I did try my best! LOL
I have subscribed to F1 since it was shown on Sky but have never 'suspended' it before, however, the way things are, I would rather keep the £58 rather than Sky...

@StephenSky unfortunately we see this type of situation where cs agents and managers say one thing but the system does another on here regularly
the general rule of thumb is that the system can't be overriden even if cs says otherwise

Well, on a positive note, if/when they do screw it up, the championship has already been won, and the constructers is in the bag anyway, so I'm sure the other half can find me some chores to do instead! 🤣

Just got confirmation email from Sky, and there is room for hope - "This change will take effect in 31 days, unless otherwise agreed..."
Also, who knew you were paying an additional £72/year for Sports "HD"???
That means F1 is costing me £288/year? I may not restart it at all next year, only been a fan for over 50 years so not really into it! 🤣

Ye of little faith LOL To give Sky it’s dues, despite my request for the suspension date of the 31 day rolling contract going off-piste, they did indeed allow me to watch the last race of the season.
However, being allowed to ‘suspend’ in the first place has made me think long term. The cost, £288/year (or over £400 gross income) is simply immoral for one single channel, so despite my love of the sport, next year I’ll just watch highlights on Ch4 free.
I’ve been watching F1 since the 1960s so I’ll miss my ‘live’ experience but Sky has determined it’s only for the rich now. The first F1 champion I truly remember was our own Jackie Stewart! No amount of my talented negotiating skills managed a penny off. I started with Sky on paying them £10/month for HD which included F1 but they terminated that legacy deal a while back. I simply can no longer afford it.
In the olden days with Sky, I also was able to access the red button, giving me options of different camera feeds, and commentaries, though that was stopped too in the interest of ‘customer demand’ LOL
For all you affluent folk, I hope you enjoy Sky F1 next year, and I’ll be thinking of you...

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@StephenSky I'm not sure that's correct. Sky Sports channels come in HD as standard, and have for a couple of years. I'm pretty sure that (re)subscribing to F1 will only be £18 per month.

Have a look at my post No6, I've been charged a seperate HD amount specifically for Sky Sports at £6/month...

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@StephenSky Are your future bills £24 less though? If they are, then that can only be due to a quirk in your old legacy F1 package. Customers who date from before HD was standard on Sports still see a separate entry on the bill for HD but the combined price of the two is the correct cost of the Sports Pack (Mine shows as £17+£2 for the complete Sports Pack when I agreed the price of £19). A single channel Sports Pack isn't £18+£6.

I'll report back here on my next invoice.
As you can see, (from Post no.6) Sky have been charging me £18 + £6 (HD) /month for channel 406, F1. Even if I find it now an error, Sky are far too rich to offer me a refund for overcharging me...

Thanks for that. Yes, bill has decreased a very welcome £24, so Sky have indeed been charging me £18 + £6/month for F1. I'll be expecting my refund cheque in the post 🤣

Just wanted a minor rant LOL Was intending to boot up my F1 subscription this weekend, but Sky sent me a delightful email yesterday explaining my monthly subscription charges would be rising by £8/month. I simply can't afford that as well as F1 (even with their £3 discount!), so for first time in my 50 odd years of being a fan, will just make do with watching highlights on Ch4. (I know for most on here, that price increase will be loose change behind the sofa)
Just to round off my rant, I still can't believe that in 2023 Sky still charge for HD, surely they've also missed out by not charging us for 'colour' LOL
