Why would a phased firmware upgrade wipe out the whole user base, it is only firmware upgrades! A brave executive would sign a proposal that would increase Sky's user base in the future and keep the user base happy. 😀

It is only firmware and automatic upgrades in phases, it would cost very little in the equation and result in future profits! No hardware needs replacing in the field, and software/firmware is quite easy to modify.
The first thing to do is upgrade the 20% of exchanges left to DHCPv6 PD... 😀

I just don't see it's in the interest of a mass-market ISP to increase complexity in provisioning customers.

Sky has already upgraded 80% of exchanges to DHCPv6 PD, so why would they not do the lot?

And Sky should get out of the habit of implementing proprietary solutions, eg: DHCP Option 61, Sky wireless mesh and VoIP the name a few for broadband, open solutions are cheaper and generate more profit! 😀

With accountants in the driving seat at Comcast & sky always seemingly playing catch-up,
I'm expecting lots of hype & little substance with sky's next router!
By past performance : firmware fixes & faults inc as standard,
Although at launch, sky's routers do fair better when it comes to advertised / published functionality compared to it's TV counterparts.
In reality, 6E from a single router in all but a small apartment won't make a huge difference,
I can't see Sky offering another go at some sort of a mesh system, thus I'm with mae-3,
i can't see Sky incorporating wifi 6E.
