Cancellation issues

Hi,

I cancelled my account in February but I am still getting bill notifications (I´m not being charged as I´ve blocked the direct debit) - how do I stop this from happening?

Thanks

After putting in your cancellation notice did you get an email acknowledgement and also has your account been cancelled ?

Re: Cancellation issues

Hi,

I did not get a cancellation notice, nor has the account been officially cancelled by Sky. It is very frustrating as they are extremely awkward to deal with. I am also overseas and cannot call them to sort it out as Sky Ireland don´t allow calls from outside the country, and there is no other method (that I know of) to contact them.

You'll be accruing an unpaid debt if you haven't formally cancelled. See Sky's contact options for cancellation here, but you won't be able to cancel until the outstanding amount has been repaid: https://www.sky.com/help/home/your-account/my-account-and-subscription/cancelling/cancel-my-subscrip...

Re: Cancellation issues

I suppose thats the crux of the problem, really. I called to cancel, got annoyed with the increasingly personal questions and hard sell, so opted to cancel via letter (which is listed as a valid method of cancellation on the Sky Ireland website). Since then, nothing has happened, so I stopped the direct debit as I didn´t want to continue to pay those schysters while having no way of communicating with them as I'd moved overseas by then.

I suppose I´ll just have wait and waste time when I´m next in Ireland arguing the toss with them, but rest assured, they won´t be getting any more coin from me.
