No satellite signal since storm, anyway of actually getting in touch with Sky?

Lost satellite signal on Friday after storm, logged a fault, told Sky would be in touch later that day. No contact from them, how can one actually talk to someone to get a repair person out?

How did you log it as a fault with Sky? You're likely to have a wait of weeks not days following the disruption caused by the storms.

My husband was talking to a chatbot which told him it would be in touch with us and not to wait online. That was Saturday, still no word from them.

@Lisapm

Doing that is going to cause you additional problems. Your services will be restricted, you won't be able to call Sky, you can't cancel, late payment fees will be added and eventually Sky will involve a debt recovery company.

Thats actually the worse thing you can do, as that will make your bill overdue and put you in breach of contract. What will happen by removing your direct debit is you will incur late payment fees and ultimately if you don't pay Sky would likely eventually pass the debt to a debt collector and also thye reserve the right to cancel your subscription ( however that won't stop you having to pay for the sky service up to that point).

Non-payment will also negatively affect your credit score.

If I'm not getting service and can't contact them to fix it why would I continue to pay? At €124 a month its too costly to wait weeks for service to be restored. Plus want to cancel anyway as virgin way cheaper at €50 a month.

Do you have a phone number where you can actually speak to a person?

Give Sky a call?

You may be able to find the number via the 'need more help' link towards the bottom of the page here: https://www.sky.com/help/home

I have looked all over their website and can't find a phone number! Do you have one? That one under where you mentioned starting with 0333 is 'number dialled is not available'. I'm in Ireland

Scroll to the bottom of that page and you will see a UK flag, click on it and select the Irish flag and it will show you the contact details for Sky Ireland.

Re: No satellite signal since storm, anyway of actually getting in touch with Sky?

I'm on the irish site. Went through a series of questions with sky virtual assistance,  got to trying to book an engineers visit, earliest date was 3rd March but for some reason they couldn't chichen it and I'm back to square 1. Now tell me why I should keep paying for a service I'm not availing of until after that? My bills are paid in advance so they have a free month out of me already.

Because you'll be in breach of contract if you withhold payment.

Sky will consider a credit once your service is restored.

@Lisapm

A local satellite company may get you a quicker visit but that would be at your own expense. Billing continues as normal throughout the repair process.

Thanks for all your replies, I'm literally just looking for a phone number to speak to a person as opposed to a robot if anyone has one for Sky Ireland?

@Lisapm

Not sure of their operating times so it may have to be tomorrow …

To call Sky dial 150 (free) from a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile or alternatively use the following link
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ leading to a 0333 number.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ to see a dedicated ROI number.

The posting of full phone numbers isn’t permitted on the forum.

Any calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.
