They told me they would not contact the bank to take the payment as my bill has already been paid for this month

OK, I will rephrase the question, what payment method do you have setup on your account as you must have supplied something when the order was placed.

So by providing your bank details this is known as a direct debit as this is how your bill will be taken as your bank will release the funds to Sky on or near the billing date so you do not have to make any manual payments as you have done here.

 

That credit will be used for your next bill so no money should be taken via the direct debit.

Yes, because the direct debit instruction would have been created before you manually paid, and the manual payment won't cancel that.

 

As others have mentioned on this thread already, any manually payments will go as credit on your Sky account that will be used against future Sky bills. Manual payments should never be made unless Sky ask you to make a manual payment because the automated payment fails.

I phoned them and they said there's no credit on my next bill but says there is on my app and they said there not gunna take payment by direct debit for this months bill as it's already been paid

Therefore Sky will most likely still take the bill on your billing date.
