Thank you @Lexicon and @Mike+Tillett ... I must be doing something wrong ....
For information, before I started trying a Manual Config, on the Settings>Network page, I have:
- Connection to BroadBand Router = OK
- Connection to On Demand = OK
I went into Manual Config, added the IP Address of my Sky box, 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet value, My Router IP Address and then tried a couple of the DNS suggested above.
After each attempt, when I go back to the Settings>Network page, I have:
- Connection to BroadBand Router = FAIL
- Connection to On Demand = FAIL
I must be doing something wrong 🤗
P.S. If I go back to an auto config, I continue to be able to Record "live" channels, and OnDemand download most BBC catchup/boxsets (for example). The things that FAILED to download are On Demand SKY Cinema & SKY TV.
I've also noticed that if I go into SKY Cinema and search for a film, that some (5-10%) of the Film Thumbnails are not there or completely there (like a partial download of the image). Not sure if this is related?

All, I've just contacted SKY by phone(*), the very polite Support person explained that: it is a known issue, that they are working on it, that it is a SKY HD/Q box related issue (and that we can still Download to SKY GO on other devices, I have not tried that) and that my details have been sent to the Team working on a solution so that they can contact me when it is fixed.
(*) Quite a challenge to find a telephone number on the website isn't it ...

To clarify:-
My brodband supplier is BT.
The instructions that worked for me meant that I ONLY changed the DNS when I entered the manual configuration.
The 3 others are how the sky box connects to your router, the DNS is how the router 'finds' the correct place to go and get the files to download.
First of all I tried the DNS set to 1.1.1.1 and it seemed to work, for a while.
I then decided to try one marked for 'BT' and since then it has worked 100%.
Some other posts that I have seen suggest that you may have to try a number of the suggestions to get one that works for you.
To save you looking here is the complete list again:-
Google (Public DNS)
8.8.4.4
8.8.8.8
Cloudflare DNS (Public DNS)

208.67.220.220

Hello @Mike+Tillett , thank you again for your help 👍
The only menu that I can edit looks like this .... so I have to type in everything (or it will not save).

@DuncanHR Do you use wireless?
If yes it looks like you need to set it up.
Do the automatic set up.
Check that you get the 'OK' for connection.
Record the values you have, then when you do the manual configuration enter the first 3 again, exactly as you recorded and only changes the DNS.
Remember to press green to save.

Hello @Mike+Tillett , yes I use Wireless.
If I configure automatically, the Netwrok page looks like this:
Note, no Router IP, no DNS nor Subnet.
After I've done that, if I go to Manual Configuration, the fields are all empty:

Your pictures are failing to load.
I use an ethernet connection so my connection may be different.
For example I do not have the option to set up wireless connection.
I can only suggest that you get to a situation where you get the first screen you see that has
Connection to Broadband Router OK
ETC.
If you then press down you should get to the configuration which shows the IP address for your sky box.
ETC
with the DNS reference at the bottom.
And the option to 'manually configure'.
once I've done that I am then able to use the down arrows to manually move to the DNS value and change it.
Copuld be different for a wireless connection but I'm afarid I can't test that. I have an old box that does not have wifi connection available.

What does your screen look like after you have entered the four IP fields and clicked the green save icon at the bottom?

Hello @Mike+Tillett , Pictures have now uploaded, not sure why there was a delay ...... if you follow the logic in that message you will see what I can see (& cannot see).
Your Ethernet connection will/might explain why I am getting different menus to you 👍

Hello @Lexicon
After I've put the Manual Config information into the setting page, this screen shows FAIL after both of the top 2 rows: Connection to Broadband Router and Connection to On Demand ...
29 Dec 2021 08:03 PM
Sure I understand that - but can you do a screenshot of the saved manual IP address screen so we can see that?
Also do you know what range of IP addresses the router is using for DHCP?

I have multi-room and this occurs on both boxes.

It has been suggested that BT is a factor. How can this be when my broadband is a fibre connection and Sky is satellite?
