Discussion topic: How do I pair my sky card to Sky+ HD box (not Sky Q box)

Hello, I’m trying to pair my sky viewing card with my Sky+ HD box however when I’m going on Sky website to find out how to do this, all the help is only for pairing the card to a Sky Q box. If anyone could help with how to pair the card to a Sky+ HD box it would be much appreciated.

Make sure your Sky viewing card is correctly inserted into the box.
Press Services on your Sky remote
Press 0, 0, 1, Select (setup should now be highlighted)
Scroll across to New Install
Press Select twice

Notice for Sky+ users: as of 29th October 2024 you will no longer be able to pair your viewing card to a Sky+/Sky+HD box that the card is not already paired to, so if your Sky box breaks you cannot replace it and you'll need to move to either Sky Q, Sky Glass or Sky Stream to access Sky content

i can't perform a new install as i do not have a phone socket anywhere. what do i dio?

A phone socket hasn't been a requirement for quite a while now.

On the My Sky App

Insert your card into the slot on the front of your Sky box.
Press Services on your Sky remote, select Settings, and then Details. Make a note of your Sky box Version Number, 10 or 11-digit Serial Number, 9-digit Viewing Card Number, and Receiver ID.
Sign into the My Sky app with your SkyID.
Select Manage account, then TV followed by TV settings.
Select Activate next to Activate card and follow the on-screen instructions, entering the details you made a note of earlier.

If you cannot pair your viewing card, for any reason, Sky can pair it remotely for you, just give them a call

How can I speak to a human being at Sky?

I am not tech-savvy and I think my viewing card is worn out so I want to order a new one; however the phone options take me to a robot who tried to help me remotely but has not understood that I want a new card!!!

Does your viewing card still work because even if it looks worn out or burnt (this is normal) you wouldn't need a new one.

Just do not answer any questions that the automated system is asking you. Let the Eventually the system its going to transfer you to and adviser.

That is the only way.
