Re: Potential scam call - internet speed

Just got this call. First guy laughed when I said I need to verify that this is a genuine call, he suggested we verify my sky account number, when I found my account no. he said it was the end of his shift and he would transfer me to his collegue who skipped the verification step and tried to get me to connect to a url (I'll type it out here so that no one accidently clidks on it, [removed the link] . I apologised to the lady and said that unfortunately I wasn't convinced it was genuine and was going to hang up and call Sky to check and she hung up.  The call came through on my landline unfortunately I'm not allowed to post the number here. Hope this helps someone else.

Moderator note: link removed so nobody goes to it in error

That's always the hallmark of a scam, and ISPs just don't proactively call customers in such circumstances anyway.
