Am I entitled to compensation

Hi,

just wanted to try and clear something up. So I ordered broadband and tv on 16th November and was given an activation date of 14th December for tv and 21st December for broadband. Tv was installed on the 14th with no problems but the broadband wasn't on the 21st dec as openreach needed to complete some extra works and I was given a new installation date of 27th jan (today). I have spoken to sky today as no engineer showed to set up and install my broadband. The guys I spoke to said that I was entitled to compensation for the missed appointment which would show on my account within 30 days, but am I right in thinking that I'm also entitled to compensation for the delay in getting me activated. If I am right in this, from what date is the compensation due from? Is it todays date or the original activation date they gave me of 21st December?

thanks in advance for any help and advice.

  1. You experience Delayed Provisioning - We fail to start your new broadband and/or talk services from the date we confirmed to you in writing, this is payable at a rate of £5.25 per day for each day in delay.

If the 21st was the date you were given then it should be from that date but this can't be applied just yet until you are activated as they will not know how much you are owed.

Re: Am I entitled to compensation

@caesarome thank you for your reply. I thought that would be the case I just wanted to make sure I had the correct date so I can work out exactly what I'm owed incase there are any issues with it being awarded to me and I need to call them. Thanks again 👍
