Trying to upgrade

Hi. I am trying to upgrade to sky glass but having problems. I get as far as delivery page and it tells me there are technical issues and shuts the page. I've tried the app and the website on iPad and a laptop and same thing happens with all. Any ideas? I had spoken to the call centre earlier to check offers and they couldn't give me same price as app aparently so don't want to call as it was more expensive than the app.

If you are switching (it's not really upgrading) from Sky Q to Sky Glass, then you have to telephone and speak to them I'm afraid.

Re: Trying to upgrade

Hi. Thanks for replying. I'm not on Q. It's adding glass to existing sky package. It lets me get all the way to page where I pick what day I'd like delivery and when I try to book the engineer that's when it seems to crash.

If it's an existing Sky Stream package then you'll still need to call Sky. They only seem to allow new customers to buy Glass fully online. Everyone else with an existing Sky product needs to speak to them directly.

Re: Trying to upgrade

Thank you. Would of been helpful if the call centre staff member had told me that when I called earlier. He told me to go on to app to order and that it would be cheaper also.

Ordering anything from Sky is a bit hit and miss - there are frequent posts on here from customers trying (and failing) to do similar to what you're trying to do.

It's daft that the call centre staff can't offer you the same as what the app is offering. I'd query that with them and hopefully you'll get a more helpful adviser who can sort you out.

Good luck!

Re: Trying to upgrade

Thanks. I'll call again. I did point out that it made no sense that calling gave different prices to the app but the guy just agreed with me and directed me to the app. Hopefully I have better luck this time.

Re: Trying to upgrade

Update for anyone reading this thread.
i called sky and spoke with a very helpful guy, he confirmed that you cannot upgrade to sky glass on the app and must call to do this. He set it all up for me and even managed to save me money, lots of offers over the phone especially as in his words I was a VIP platinum customer, complete opposite of what previous guy over the phone had told me. However all ended fine, new tv coming tomorrow and engineer in 2 weeks to set up much faster broadband and all for less than I currently pay.
