I have just purchased an IoT SIM card for a tracker. To configure the device I need to send SMS messages to it. The SIM card as a phone number starting with +882, this is a non geographic international dialling code reserved for things like the Internet of Things (IoT). However when I try and send texts using my Sky mobile I get the error "could not send message". I can send texts to my ordinary contacts without any problems. My Sky SIM is in my Samsung phone. Can anyone help?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Jeff-S have you looked at your spend cap ? If this is an international number then any text message would be chargeable, if your spend cap is zero then the message won't send.

Hi @63johnw
My spend limit is set to £10 so I don't think this can be the problem

It's an issue with O2 (sky uses their network) O2 will not send messages to +882 numbers (never had this issue when I was with Three though)
