Internet speed has dropped

Hi 

 

I'm having a problem with my internet speed last year i was getting 33-35mbs.

 

Then sky had a problem with there broadband all over the UK and it went down. After a day or two the internet come back on but from here i'v never had the same speeds that i had before.

 

I have rang so many time about it but they would just send me a new router even after i told them i have all ready got a new router from the last time i rang and they would say they can see the line is no stable but all i have was my speed dropped and the max speed they could get me up to was 30mbs.

 

Now its been a few months and since i rang sky but the last few days my internet has dropped to 28mbs below the Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed of 29mbs. and its been the same for the last 12-14 days.

 

I restarted the router yesterday and Line Rate - Downstream went up to 29mbs so i restarted the router again hoping some how it would go up again but it went back down to 28mbs.

 

Can a sky employee please do a line check and see whats going on or if anyone can help me out in any way.

@HyperWelshIf you are below your minimum then give Sky a call and tell them this, they should then look into this. If after 30 days they are unable to fix this then you have other options.

@Highlinder The thing is they don't seem to fix the problem as iv had this before then i got to 30mbs and now its back to 28mbs from 33-35mbs and it was at 33-35mbs for years untill sky had the black out

 

Now i get fed up of ringing and they go over the same thing is your router working,  test the fillter, its your line to the router,  have you tired a new cable, the last one they wanted me to talk on phone camera to look at my router.

 

Everytime its the same and i tell them i tried every thing new my end and its the same speed its to the router thats only getting 28mbs if to the router i get 35mbs then i get that speed to my pc with a speed test and i can feel its quicker. so i was hoping someone on here would do a line test and just have a look in to it for me so i dont have to ring again. 

 

only other option is to leave it at 28mbs and then look for someone to go with  but dont really want to do that so hoping it can be sorted.

@HyperWelshIf you move provider and find that your speed does improve then you know it is down to the router. But if you have the same on the line by moving then you know it is the line.

Sky sent out 2 new router to try and i even got one my self non-sky router but all was the same 😞 so i lost out there.

 

I just can't see how for years i got 33-35mbs and now i can't even get up to 29-30mbs

@HyperWelsh  Seeing that there is a waiting list on your cabinet, this is what could be pulling down your speed. This could be something that is also causing your drop-outs with no capacity in the cabinet.

@Highlinder Also is the Broadband Exchange and PCP cabinet the same thing as i just done a scan on kitz and i'm connected to a broadband exchange a few miles away and i got a green cabinet much closer.

What do that mean there is a waiting list on the cabinet is that something to tell sky if i ring up again

@HyperWelshJust means that your cabinet you are connected to is at capacity and this could be the cause of your drops. Not miuch can be done till more capacity is put in.
