Google searches for but cannot go to websites like bbc on all devices

Continue to have intermittent issues (right now it's not working across devices laptops and phones), searching on google, gmail, hotmail works fine. But cannot access any other sites like e.g. bbc.co.uk / sky sports.com/ ft.com. This includes apps like Facebook, bbc news sports etc. Same issue via wifi and Ethernet 

Rebooted devices, router, also reset router and still continue to have issue. Went to neighbour and work office and tried phone and laptop and they work all fine

Managed to find a workaround by manually changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google public DNS) on all devices

something clearly wrong with router (didnt resolve even after 'reset to factory defaults' from sky hub
